JUNIOR NEWSLETTER - JUNE 2008
Now that summer is here why not come and join other juniors at 3pm each Saturday afternoon. You will be able to play in your own groups and have the option of entering the running eclectic competition at 50p per card.

News Flash Free Afternoon lessons for members - starting Sat 7th June at 2pm and will continue for the next 4 Saturdays. Juniors can then tee off together for the usual 3pm meet.

Why not invite your friend to come and play golf with you during the summer holidays. There is now a prospective membership scheme in place so that your friends can play up to 6 rounds of golf at £5 per round during the Junior Sat afternoon meet. After 6 rounds they can then make a decision if they would like to join. With £30 already paid from the 6 rounds, it means that only £60 is required for the annual junior membership fee of £90. This scheme is only available if the Club Pro Nigel Pearce decides they are competent to play on the course, after first assessing them at his Saturday morning lessons 0930 -1030. (Lessons are for members and non members and cost £1.00 per session).

EGU Skills Challenge

A big thank you to all the volunteers and greens staff who helped with a successful EGU National Skills Challenge during April, with 10 juniors attending. There will now be another Skills challenge on 13 Jun 08. If you want to take part please sign up on the notice board. If you are not already registered please do so at www.getintogolf.org/skills/ and make sure you enter as a (Rookie under 12 yrs old) or (Tour 12 yrs and over). If you do not register then you will not be entered on the leader board. Why not invite a friend who might be interested in playing golf - they do not need a handicap.

This fun challenge covers 5 golfing disciplines, putting, chipping, pitching, bunker play & full swing - each discipline has 2 Challenge activities, making 10 in total.
